Daily Journal: Work day relaxing

Worked a little bit more on the iBook for Pet Battles, but I slept most of the day because I have to work tonight. I’m getting closer & closer to finished with the Pet Battle book. I’m at that phase where i just want to finish it. Though there’s a bit of layout work that will need to be done as well.

Daily Journal: Day 8

Worked a bit on outlining the gold making book and the class books. It’s Day 8 and the submitted iBooks are not on the iBook store yet.

Flying this afternoon. I am looking forward to this trip but I’m kinda scared to look forward to anything. Everything lately I’ve looked forward to lately has gone horribly wrong.

Alt Appreciation #MageWeek

Continuing with Alt Appreciation. This is a class I’ve had trouble leveling. Mage.

Magebook is currently level 50 and the lowest of my “try one of each class” experiment. I started her before they fixed the level 1-10 mana regeneration. When you could not even kill one mob before it killing you because 2 spells and your mana bar was empty. Needless to say I hated the class. It gets better as you get higher level, but I still can’t make myself level her because of the early mental block.

Daily Journal: I hate floating

English: Florence Nightingale, pioneer of mode...

English: Florence Nightingale, pioneer of modern nursing. This print was made in 1920 from the original negative plate. Français : Florence Nightingale, pionnière de l’infirmerie moderne. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I hate having to go to another floor and function. Especially in my 2nd week on a contract. I’ve now gone to CICU twice. And CICU is Cardiac Intermediate (not Intensive) Care Unit. I’m not dealing with it well. My adjust reaction is definitely having mixed emotional components. Change does not sit well with me at the moment and having to deal with learning 2 departments is stressful.

I really should be working on the Pet Battles book. Or outlining the class books. Or outlining the Goldmaking book. Instead I’m leveling my horde paladin.

Daily Journal: Panic

PANIC!!!!!

I’m feeling so panicky today. I’ve tried to get my 401k going without success. I should have been to bed hours ago, instead I’m sitting up at my computer and panicking over nothing. I have succeeded in getting the dental plan I have upgraded. And I have to go to work tonight again.

Daily Journal: I need to gem and enchant

Well Book got her gloves out of normal last night when we got Gen. Nazgrim. Now I’ve got to gem and enchant those. That gets rid of the last of her LFR tier pieces. The helm is still Flex. But hey, guild got 3 new bosses last night on normal on one night. Malkorok on normal is a doozy. Considering we’ve had difficulty getting 25 people together doing it twice in the same week is awesome. So is getting 6 new bosses down in that same week.

I think I have Holybook’s healing set gemmed & enchanted, but I’ll have to check. I know Shepardbook isn’t gemmed, but I enchanted her on Sunday in the middle of the Flex raid I was conned into.

Got a bit of the Pet Battle book written and typed up.

Yesterday I felt accomplished just mailing out the maple syrup I’ve been sitting on for a month and the old iPad (it should arrive Thursday).

Daily Journal: LFR is improving and a new level 90

I took my Paladin through LFR last night. Siege of Orgrimmar LFR was pretty horrid when it first launched. Garrosh was probably the worst, but I don’t think it was quite as bad a Durumu when he launched. Durumu week one I saw go to 10+ stack of determination before he was beat. Garrosh was only a 5 stack.

Also last night I finished up with Hunterbook. Say hello to my newest level 90. She already had a heroic level weapon she has been using since level 85. And she was greeted with a bunch of timeless isle tokens as soon as I figured out which characters were sitting on them. She makes 8.

Plan for today is to take my Priest through. She needs some TLC since I’ve neglected her for Book & Holybook. She’s fun to play. I love discipline. Just not enough time…. That seems to be a theme.

Daily Journal: I’m seeing progress

I’m DONE!!!! Hearthstone book is off to the beta readers. The World of Warcraft iBook is available in the iBook’s store. It needs edits! Then I have to decide which book I’m working on next. Pet battles? Classes? Gold making? Help me pick with this survey. Please. Pretty please!

Had a down moment when thinking about work changed it so I’m now working Christmas day. :( Oh well. More time to write that night. I’m jsut trying to keep myself up. Somedays it’s rougher than others.

Daily Journal: For the Love of Music

I watched For the Love of Music: The Story of Nashville on my ABC app the other day. It had me tearing up. This is the nearest “city” to where I grew up. I mean when my grandfather was in the VA hospital my 7th grade year, we were up there practically every Sunday. It’s a very musical city. I’m never surprised to see buskers in Nashville. Other cities it’s kinda jarring. Nashville and maybe New Orleans, it’s organic. It’s got a bit of hero worship of the older generation going on, especially the surviving rebels. One of the lines from this documentary, from a songwriter that I can’t recall his name, he was talking about just watching Kris Kristofferson play, “He (Kristofferson) has erased better lines than I’ve ever written.” Kristofferson is quite a person. He’s actually best known in music circles for his songwriting. Most non-music-nerd people don’t realize he wrote Janis Joplin’s hit “Me & Bobby McGee.” He was also a Rhodes Scholar. He’s acted in movies. He’s made and sung his own records. I mean everyone will admit he doesn’t have the greatest voice, but there’s just that interesting quality about hearing the song from the original songwriter.

Thinking back if you watch the commentary on the movie Walk the Line when June Carter wrote “Ring of Fire.” She wrote it while falling in love with someone who was a bad bet for her. Johnny Cash made it famous, but it was June who wrote it about Johnny and it was such a personal song for June that for many years she couldn’t record it. Because at the time she wrote it, Johnny was in the thrall of drug addiction and still married to his first wife.

Another song by Johnny Cash that stands out for me is “Hurt” which was written, recorded and released by Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails. A quote from Trent was when he saw Cash’s video “It was like I lost my girlfriend.” “Hurt” was a 20 year old dealing with depression when recorded by Reznor. “Hurt” by Cash was an elder man looking back on a life lived both roughly and richly.

Daily Journal: My backwards life

So what am I doing today. I worked… There’s 12.5 hours (without counting travel time) gone right there. I’m 12 hours flipped from a “normal life”. My day starts at 3:00 PM when the alarm goes off…. I NEVER get up when my alarm goes off. My alarm is an abused thing. The snooze get used a lot. Then I have to squeeze in any Warcraft dailies I’m meaning to do and try to leave for food by 4:30 pm. Eat & write if I’m inclined. I’ve got 1 iBook in Beta review and another in the writing process. The general World of Warcraft book is LONG. 138 pages. Hopefully the Hearthstone book is a lot shorter. Actually I’ve got a lot of it done currently. 3 heroes left to write for. Need to buff up the abilities sections, but I’m getting a lot closer. Anyway try to head for work at 6 PM. Sit and type/surf the net until time to clock in at 6:53 PM. Then it’s work, work, work with the rare bit of writing or reading until 7:30 am. Then it’s drive home and to bed and start the cycle over at 3 PM.

Yesterday I finished Pro Pet Mob achievement in World of Warcraft while doing some pet battle dailies. I also managed to finish leveling my Nether Fairie Dragon, Flayer Youngling and my Infinite Whelpling. I had insomnia a bit. I woke up after about 4 hours sleep. So I got a bit done.
